10. Inventory

The inventory is used to keep track of items - like equipment, small peaces, chemicals or anything that is somehow needed for your research and you think deserves tracking.

The inventory is shared on a group level but just the supevisor or studentadmin role can delete things finally from it.

Items can be checked out and returned to the inventory - this way, you know how much is available or who uses a certain peace of equipment. Items have a location as well as general information like vendors or catalog numbers. A free field allows to put any description needed and files can be attached to the itme entry (like datasheets, MSDS files or a image). As always, this free field allows for markdown formatting to make it more beautiful and include images to be displayed.

The overview shows a table with all registered items grouped by the item type. You can edit, check-out or return items. Clicking on the link, will display the entry for the item. You can make an existing item into a template by clicking on template. In the item view, you can also edit, check-out and return items. A list of group members who checked out the itm is available.

10.1. New item

Add item to inventory. A form shows up and a item template can be choosen to pre-fill the form.

Supervisors and StudentAdmins can define new item types here.

Edit, delete and work with item templates.
